APOLOGETICS

Contending earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints — giving a reasoned defense of the truth of Christianity against every objection.

PRESUPPOSITIONAL APOLOGETICS

At Scripture Alone, we approach the defense of the faith from a presuppositional standpoint. Rather than treating God's existence as merely probable, we recognize that the triune God of Scripture is the necessary foundation for all human reasoning, morality, and science.

Every worldview rests on presuppositions — ultimate starting points that cannot themselves be proved by anything more fundamental. The Christian worldview alone provides the preconditions of intelligibility: the laws of logic, the uniformity of nature, and the objectivity of moral values.

Our method follows the apostolic example: we do not merely argue toward God, but from God, exposing the internal contradictions of unbelieving thought and demonstrating that Christianity alone makes sense of human experience.

“But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.”
1 Peter 3:15

KEY TOPICS

Explore the major areas of Christian apologetics and the arguments that demonstrate the truth and coherence of the biblical worldview.

Existence of God

The transcendental argument demonstrates that the existence of the Christian God is the necessary precondition for intelligibility itself. Without God, logic, science, and morality lose their foundation.

Problem of Evil

Far from disproving God, the existence of evil presupposes an objective moral standard that can only be grounded in the character of God. Evil is a departure from good, which God alone defines.

Reliability of Scripture

The manuscript evidence, internal consistency, archaeological confirmation, and fulfilled prophecy of the Bible attest to its divine origin and historical trustworthiness as the Word of God.

Resurrection of Christ

The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of the Christian faith, supported by the empty tomb, post-resurrection appearances, and the transformation of the earliest disciples.

Moral Argument

Objective moral values and duties point to a transcendent moral lawgiver. Without God, moral claims reduce to subjective preferences with no binding authority over human conduct.

Design Argument

The fine-tuning of the universe, the information content of DNA, and the irreducible complexity of biological systems point to an intelligent Creator rather than undirected natural processes.
